Refund Policy

Effective Date: October 5, 2026
Last updated: October 4, 2026

This Refund Policy explains how refunds, free trials, cancellations, renewals and plan changes work for subscriptions to ReCut - AI Video Editor ("ReCut"), our video editing app for iPhone, which is made by Novaire Capital Corporation, a company based in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us" or "our"). It forms part of our Terms of Service (Section 8). ReCut is sold only through Apple's App Store, and ReCut doesn't sell any physical product.

In short: Apple decides refunds for App Store purchases. ReCut can't issue refunds and doesn't promise one. Your subscription is sold and billed by Apple, and only Apple can return money for it, under its own rules. Asking for a refund doesn't mean one will be granted. A charge that was correctly made, including a free trial that became a paid subscription because it wasn't canceled in time, or a renewal that has already been billed, is a valid charge. Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in the App Store.

1. Apple Decides Refunds

Apple decides refunds for App Store purchases. ReCut can't issue refunds and doesn't promise one.

Apple processes your payment, holds your payment details and reviews each refund request under its own policies and the law that applies to you. We never see your card details, ReCut has no refund button, and we can't approve, speed up, guarantee or reverse Apple's decision.

A refund request is not a refund. Apple decides each request case by case and doesn't publish its criteria. Its decision is final as far as ReCut is concerned, and we can't appeal it for you.

1A. How to Ask Apple

  • Go to Apple's Report a Problem page, reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple Account you used to subscribe, choose the ReCut purchase and follow the steps. You can also find your purchases on your iPhone in Settings, then your name, then Media & Purchases, then View Account, then Purchase History.
  • Apple reviews the request and tells you its decision directly.

1B. If Apple Grants a Refund

The subscription the refund covers ends. ReCut checks your subscription when it starts, when you return to it and when a period ends; at the next check, if you have no other access, such as access from a creator code, it returns to the subscription screen. Your projects stay on your iPhone.

2. Free Trials

Some ReCut plans are offered with a free trial. Its length (3 or 7 days, depending on the offer), the price that applies after it and the billing period are shown on the subscription screen before you confirm, and that screen governs. The trial's limits are in the Fair Use Policy (Terms of Service, Section 7E).

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Otherwise the trial becomes a paid subscription, and payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends.
  • One trial per Apple Account. Trial eligibility is once per Apple Account across the whole ReCut Premium subscription group, whichever plan you choose. If you have had a trial of, or subscribed to, any ReCut plan before, Apple may offer other plans without one. The subscription screen shows whether a trial applies before you confirm.
  • It's your responsibility to cancel in time. A charge made because a trial ended without being canceled is a valid charge, not an error. Not noticing when the trial ended, not using ReCut during the trial, or not receiving a reminder doesn't make the charge an error. Whether Apple returns the money is Apple's decision.

3. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time in your App Store subscription settings (on your iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions), or in ReCut from Profile, then Manage subscription, which opens Apple's subscription settings.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It doesn't end the current period or return money for it: you keep access until the period you have paid for ends.

Deleting the ReCut app doesn't cancel your subscription, and neither does deleting your ReCut account. Both leave the subscription running in your Apple Account, where it keeps renewing until you cancel it there. Charges made because a subscription was left running are valid charges.

4. Renewals and Price Changes

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until canceled. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your App Store subscription settings show the renewal date. A renewal that has already been charged is a valid charge, and any refund request for it goes to Apple.

We may change subscription prices. Apple tells you about a price change for your subscription in advance and, where Apple's rules or the law require it, asks for your agreement before the new price applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before it takes effect. A price change doesn't create a right to a refund for a period already charged.

5. Upgrades, Downgrades and Period Changes

Apple handles changes between plans in the ReCut Premium group:

  • Upgrades take effect at once. Apple adjusts what you pay for the unused part of the old plan under its own rules.
  • Downgrades take effect at your next renewal. You keep the higher plan until then.
  • A change of billing period on the same plan takes effect at your next renewal.

After an upgrade, what you have already used this month counts against the new plan's limits, and your monthly reset date doesn't change (Terms of Service, Section 7F). ReCut doesn't add or return edits or audio minutes for a plan change.

6. Promotional and Alternative Offers

We may present promotional or alternative offers, for example a different offer shown if you start a purchase and then cancel Apple's payment sheet. Unless the offer screen says that a lower price is introductory and names the price that follows it, an offer is its own subscription product and renews at the price it was sold at. The price, billing period and renewal terms shown on the offer screen when you buy are the ones that apply. Wording such as "limited time" describes how long the offer is shown in the app; it doesn't create a right to a refund or shorten any cancellation right you have.

7. Restoring a Purchase

If you reinstall ReCut or move to a new iPhone, sign in to your ReCut account and tap Restore purchases, in Profile or in the menu that opens when you close the subscription screen, while signed in to the Apple Account you subscribed with. Restoring is free and doesn't charge you. It confirms an existing subscription with Apple; it never grants access by itself.

If Restore doesn't find a subscription you believe is active, email support@userecut.com with your App Store receipt and we will help you trace it. Buying a second subscription instead of restoring the first is a separate purchase; any refund request for it goes to Apple.

8. Family Sharing

Family Sharing is not available for ReCut subscriptions. Each subscription is for the one person whose account it is on, and a family member who wants ReCut needs a subscription of their own.

9. When Your Access Ends

If your subscription ends or lapses, or Apple reverses the purchase, and you have no other access, ReCut returns to the subscription screen. Edits still waiting to start when your subscription ends are canceled and aren't counted. Your projects stay on your iPhone while the app is installed, and you can subscribe again at any time.

10. Creator Codes

Access granted through a creator code is not a purchase. It has no price and no cash value, can't be exchanged for money or a subscription, and there is nothing to refund. It may end when the code's access period ends, or be withdrawn if the code was obtained or used in breach of the Terms of Service (Section 9).

11. Edits That Weren't Counted

An edit that isn't counted uses none of your edits or audio minutes. That happens when you cancel an edit before transcription starts; when an edit fails because of ReCut or one of its providers, and the app tells you "This edit wasn't counted."; and when ReCut's AI cuts weren't available, so the edit removed only silences and filler words. An edit that wasn't counted is not a refund, and it doesn't change what you pay. The Fair Use Policy in the Terms of Service (Section 7) explains how edits are counted.

12. Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in the App Store. Your subscription keeps renewing in your Apple Account until you cancel it there, even after your ReCut account is deleted. Cancel before you delete your account if you want no further charges. Our Delete Your Data page explains account deletion step by step.

13. No Satisfaction Guarantee

ReCut doesn't offer a satisfaction guarantee, or a refund for unused time, unused edits or minutes, a change of mind, or dissatisfaction with the app or with an AI cut. AI cuts can be wrong, and every one of them can be restored in the editor (Terms of Service, Section 6E).

14. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have as a consumer under the law of the place you live that can't be waived by agreement, including consumer protection laws in Ontario, Quebec and elsewhere. Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom may have a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital purchase; it is exercised with Apple, under Apple's terms, which may say that the right ends once the digital service starts at your request. Where a statutory right applies, you exercise it with Apple, which sells and bills the subscription, and where the law requires anything of us, we will do it. Where such a right conflicts with this policy, the right prevails.

15. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when ReCut, Apple's rules or the law changes, and we change the "Last updated" date at the top each time. A change doesn't affect a charge made before it was published.

16. Contact Us

For questions about a charge, a trial or a renewal, email support@userecut.com from the email address on your ReCut account, or include that address in your message, with your App Store receipt if you have it. Never send card numbers. We can explain what happened and how to cancel. For the refund decision itself, contact Apple as described in Section 1.
